The sizing is a preparatory process of weaving that comes after warping. It is a very important and critical preparatory process. “The process of application of a thin film of adhesive and binder on the yarn surface to improve the weavability of yarn is called sizing process”.

Warp sizing is the process of giving a protective coating on the warp yarn to minimize yarn breakages during weaving operation.

Sizing improves the weave ability of warp yarn by making it more resistance to action of weaving like absorption, friction, tension etc. Secondly, to maintaining good fabric quality by reducing hairiness, weakness and by increasing smoothness and absorbency of yarn.
